What are the lessons that you learned after reading the commencement address of Steve Jobs? (at least 1000words)



As I continue my discussion about what are the lessons that I’ve learned after reading the “Commencement Address of Steve Jobs” please allow me to share the things that happen, as we read and discuss it in our group.

And as I Read the article together with my fellow group mates, we have learn a lot of things of the “Commencement Address of Steve Jobs” but in the other way we found out also in his life, the things that we don’t like it and the things that made as confirm something about him. As we Read it and meditate it individually in his story, it is divided into three stories which are: The first story is about connecting the dots; the second story is about love and loss and the Last one, the third story is about death.

The first story is about connecting the dots

The words that struck in my mind and made me strong and enlightened about the words of Steve Jobs are ->

you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

In relate to our life now. Most of the time students and people living in this world are full of Dreams and Goals but do not look Histories that passes in their lives. Yes, we can Dream and Set Goals in our life, there are no LAWS that seal us not to Dream and Sets Goals. But the thing is because of that we are all blinded about what is the real reason or the past why we are here in this world.

Earthly desire made us blinded by the truth. Yes it is right, what STEVE JOBS said “….you can only connect them looking backwards.” I am agreeing with that, The TRUTH is because of the past we are all revolutionize. By the help of the past we will be able to know what are our weakness and strength that we may able to use it, prevent it and improve it in present and in the near future.

There are a lot of things and Bad Memories that Steve Jobs carry in his life, like In his FAMILY, SCHOOL, WORKS and many more, and as he continues his life in this world. He Carry it all for him to able to Stand with, in all circumstances and situations in his LIFE.

The most important thing that we must look backward and apply it in PRESENT is what our GOD JESUS CHRIST did to us. He died in the Cross for us to be saved and healed in all curses in our Lives. We must have the attitude of CHRIST LIKE, we will Serve and Worship GOD for us to be PERFECT. (Matt. 5:48) –“Therefore you shall be PERFECT, just as your FATHER IN HEAVEN is PERFECT”. Nobody is perfect but by GOD’s Grace and Mercy, we can be PERFECT if we are willing to be a perfect. No excuses change our MIND SET into a OPTEMISTIC.


My second story is about love and loss

In this Story it tackles about the life of STEVE JOBS in Love and Loss. Love is a strong positive emotion of regard and affection; "His love for his work" http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=love the passion of the work, that is STEVE JOBS. His first love is his WORK; Steve Jobs is a WORKoholic type of person.

He is a type of person that is willing to give up everything just for the WORK, the determination and courage to CONQUER the WORLD. Even his Family and Friends, He denies and refute just for his Passion of the WORK. He builds and organize his own company which is the APPLE by his own passion and obsession. WORK mania. . . “wew Over(nn) acting na kAayo wOrds” but it simply shows that Steve Jobs is really Hard Working Guy in a Selfish way of living.

Loss, Loss is some kind a LOST something. In the Situation of Steve Jobs, the things that he has LOST is his own company which is the APPLE, he fired by his own company. Well can you imagine your own company that you made is the one who fired you? But Steve Jobs doesn’t think of any bad reason, he take it with no doubt. But he arose again, he stand and back for his company for a new begging in his life.

-You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.-

Search for the one you LOVE, but for me I already found my own LOVE, my LOVE one that I am willing to take a risk with all my HEART and SOUL, and that is MY LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST. As I encounter GOD, my blind fold is already take it away by GOD, and now I am living in the WORLD of TRUTH that GOD JESUS CHRIST is the only WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.(John 14:6)



My third story is about death

"If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right."

Live Life to the FULLEST, don’t waste you time. Time is so Precious, we bring all things back into his own structure but time we can’t. So therefore we must be vigilant, active, take it all and give all what you have or what you’ve got in your life.

(Matthew 6:34 ) 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.


As we READ and MEDITATE all the things that happen in his life (Steve Job). We see things clear, Steve Jobs Don't even mention GOD JESUS CHRIST, but instead "Hare Krishna temple".
For me and for Us LIFE WITHOUT GOD JESUS CHRIST is "useless", "worthless", and "nothing".

If you think to your self that you are weak and brainless then you will have it. The best way to help it to improve, is to be an OPTEMISTIC kind of Person and acknowledge GOD always, think that you SMART, Smarter than everything. It helps a lot to you as your own, be confident and it boost your self-esteem, that all things are possible.
(Prov. 3:5-6)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

If you’re in trouble, not in trouble by having fight with other person but trouble in our MINDS, it affects a lot in our body and our spirit. And all we need is the PRESENCE of GOD “acknowledge him, and he will Direct your paths.”


Write

It is a way to exercise your creativity and analytical ability. Well based to my own experience and as I relate this “Write” in my life, this is truly a good way to enhance also our IQ, our minds. Because as you “write” you must read/hear, am I right? Reading/hearing then writing is the good way equation to have an IQ Improve, having this equation make us be a better knowledge about in a certain topic or information.

Do something you enjoy

“Do something you enjoy”, from its word. It is so subotable that you must do such things that you’re comfortable and not hard to manage. You must organize it properly in order to enjoy each moment with all your heart. “ Do something you enjoy , it is hard for us to work something we don’t love to work on it. You should know yourself.

Eat Well

Yes, it is so very important also that you must eat well on time with a proper manage and diet. In order for our mind and brain will function it well. For example now, we are doing some assignment 2000 words without proper manage in our life. It happens that we may not be able to think further as we could in normal. Because our brain and mind couldn’t function well, the tendency will be our neurons are weak.

Exercise

Exercise, not just in our body (Physical) but also in our mind (Emotional). Physical is by exercise in gym or simply jugging, just to help our body circulate well. In the other hand which is the Emotional, we some-up the point that by reading some comics, stories and all we need is the BIBLE. Read the Bible for it is the WORD of GOD(nn)

What is EQ (Emotional Quotient)?

Emotional Quotient or EQ is one of the ways to measure a person’s ability to be successful in life.

One good example of the EQ, in our last meeting at July 28 which is we have the Personal Traits Examination and for us to be know, if we student has the ability to be successful in life. Especially the TECHNOPRENEURSHIP field.


Well, at the previous meeting that we have last Wednesday, our FACILITATOR gave as an Activity or Shall we say just a simple Examination for our PERSONAL TRAITS that it would determined if we are qualified student for the future TECHNOPRENEUR in the University.


28th Day of July, Wednesday. We took up the Personal Traits Examination, which is the Emotional Quotient. At that day, please allow me to put in plain words in order to know, what the real situation that happens in that Day is actually the truth is we don’t know that, in that day is the day for the exam for the Technopreneurship 1. So because we don’t know and we don’t expect it to happen, we are not ready, not ready in the sense of our mind and also body, because it is unexpected. So it’s happen we are all panicky, all are worries and don’t know what to do because has no idea what will be happen in next few minutes to start the exam. Haha Others are asking for the notebook, some are for papers , and many more .

So everything now expect that it would be a difficult exam, but PRAISE GOD. When our FACILITATOR gwapo said: “it is just a simple examination, a very simple examination which can be answered only [a] or [b]” so there for the probability of the exam to be pass is high. 50% lng. Yehey. Then our FACILITATOR continue to discuss, said: “it is just a personal traits examination” very easy. But it’s help us a lot in order to us to be know, who really we are (nn).

Questions are very easy. It is more on PERSONAL on how we manage ourselves not just to our selves but also to other people, by doing such things like on how communicate to other, social contact, Interaction from one to another (customer) and Manage to analyze problems situation in a certain BUSINESS that who needs a new Improvement in their Company. It seems like sales talk, on how we manage BUSINESSES, PLANS and and also our MIND/MIND SET.

Effects of EQ:
Self - Management

Self - Control
-You must manage your self to control emotions that you may express to other or something.- Controlling to your self is actually it is so difficult, why? because the real battle is not in the outside but inside and that is our self. Fighting our own that we must be an Overcomer.
- Overcomer it means you've done something to control. (nn)
Trustworthy
-in order to have a good communication and field transaction you must be a good and trustworthy person in order for those people that surrounds you may conceited of you.
- You can easily determine if the other person love or like what you've doing, through his/her facial expression and eye contact. In order for him/her to be able call his/her attention you must be a good looking, so he/she may not doubt for you.

Relationship Management

Leadership
-We must be a good leader and at first you must master first the Self-Management. You cannot govern a people if you, yourself cannot govern.
- And also the Self - Mastery (SEED) - "Self-Mastery, Environment Mastery, Enterprise Mastery, and Development of Business Plan".
- Self - Mastery - means something that in your self. You must know your Own, your weakness, your assets and everything that may able to use to any other transactions or in a business attitude.

Teamwork & collaboration
-If you a leader then you must be work to other as one, not individual but united.
- Collaborate something, two or more people, they must be work together.
Influence
-It is all started for you before the other. Moto: “IF I CHANGE, EVERYTHING CHANGES.”
- Be Optimistic. . you should have the Heart of Power, that you may be able to bear everything and Change it, according to your will in a good way/path.

But Jesus said: "Acknowledge me in all your ways; i will direct your path."



What is AQ (Adversity Quotient)?

Adversity Quotient, when we talk about Adversity it deals something that, an Instances or something a Situation that deals us into Serious. When we talk about Quotient, Quotient is the result of the Division hehe. . jOke(nn) well Quotient i guess it is something that sets. . a data that describe the sets of information.

So to combine(nn) Adversity Quotient = Adversity Quotion (AQ) . . Dealing something that "Instances of Situation" that are "Sets". hehe If i'm not wrong =)

Adversity Quotient response is comprised of four CORE dimensions. Understanding them is the first step toward
improving your response to adversity, expanding your capacity, and, ultimately, increasing your overall AQ.

This are the ASPECTS in Adversity Quotient that needs to be improve and must be able to take concern in order to enhance what is need to be enhance.

C = Control

To what extent can you influence the situation? How much control do you perceive you have?
Those with higher AQs perceive they have significantly more control and influence in adverse situations than
do those with lower AQs. Even in situations that appear overwhelming or out of their hands, those with higher
AQs find some facet of the situation they can influence. Those with lower AQs respond as if they have little or
no control and often give up.

O = Ownership

To what extent do you hold yourself responsible for improving this situation? To what extent are you
accountable to play some role in making it better?
Accountability is the backbone of action. Those with higher AQs hold themselves accountable for dealing with
situations regardless of their cause. Those with lower AQs deflect accountability and most often feel
victimized and helpless.

R = Reach

How far does the fallout of this situation reach into other areas of your work or life?To what extent does the
adversity extend beyond the situation at hand?
Keeping the fallout under control and limiting the reach of adversity is essential for efficient and effective
problem solving. Those with higher AQs keep setbacks and challenges in their place, not letting them infest
the healthy areas of their work and lives. Those with lower AQs tend to allow a setback in one area to bleed
into other, unrelated areas and become destructive.

E = Endurance

How long will the adversity endure?
Seeing beyond even enormous difficulties is an essential skill for maintaining hope. Those with higher AQs
have the uncanny ability to see past the most interminable difficulties and maintain hope and optimism. Those
with lower AQs see adversity as dragging on indefinitely, if not permanently.

As I see Myself taking the Test and I learn a lot, because I found such things that and I figure it out that it seems like i am Low in the aspect of Ownership which means that some kinda Helpless, Discouragements, Tiredness a little bit. . those are somethings that i need to be improve in order to sustain the perfect to my passion. The good things are CONTROL and ENDURANCE, yah it right (nn) hahaha "hilas" but I guess in that aspect, i'm in that way. . well it is really important to a certain business that their will be the one to control the situation. we know problems are everywhere.

But I Hold On to the WORDS of GOD, provisions and promotion hides as problem. all we need to do is to become OPTIMISTIC, I know everything has a purpose. A business cannot consider as a successful if the business doesn't experience failures. . Failures are the one who made the Business become Stronger. We must always go stand up and carry all, be a CONQUEROR!. n' Business and above all this GOD!. .

- Which means every Obstacles is a chance to be successful. In every steps we made, not all things are good but it has test, a test that may help us to grow and to know what must be done in order to grow.
